1 2 10 Warranty Coverage Home Diagram

StrucSure’s 1, 2 and 10-year combined warranty includes new-home warranty coverage for one year on workmanship and materials; coverage for two years on the delivery portion of systems (the wiring, piping, and ductwork in the electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, ventilation, and mechanical systems); and coverage for 10 years on major structural defects.

Note that both the two-year and the 10-year coverage options are necessary in situations where the warranty is being used to satisfy HUD requirements.

What is covered?

  • The one-year warranty is a builder surety and backs the builder’s obligation to the buyer for workmanship and materials. Covered components of a home that do not meet established Performance Standards during the first year will be repaired, replaced, or paid for under our warranty in the event the builder defaults as provided in the StrucSure Home Warranty (surety coverage).
  • The two-year warranty is a builder surety and backs the builder’s warranty on defects in the wiring, piping and ductwork in the electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, ventilating and mechanical systems. Covered components of a home that do not meet the established Performance Standards during the first two years will be repaired, replaced, or paid for under our warranty in the event the builder defaults as provided in the StrucSure Home Warranty (surety coverage).

StrucSure’s 10-year structural warranty begins on the day of closing and lasts for 10 years.  As a direct warranty, StrucSure Home Warranty is the responsible party for any covered major structural defects. If a major structural defect occurs within the first 10 years, it will be repaired, replaced, or paid for under our warranty.

The 10-year warranty covers the following load-bearing components of a new home:

  • Foundation systems and footings,
  • Floor framing systems,
  • Walls and partitions,
  • Roof framing systems,
  • Beams,
  • Headers,
  • Girders,
  • Lintels (other than those supporting veneers),
  • Columns (other than a column that is designed to be cosmetic), and
  • Masonry Arches (other than a column that is designed to be cosmetic).

One and two-year coverage cannot be purchased individually, but the 10-year structural warranty can (click here for more information if you are looking for a 10-year warranty only).
